MnSAT Glossary

C-Band
C-Band analog satellite broadcast transmission: Voice/Video, On-Site or Remote. Like Ku band, most sites have C band analog dishes.

Downlink
Through either portable devices or fixed downlink dishes, MnSAT is able to downlink both digital and analog satellite signals.

Ku-Band
Ku-Band digital satellite broadcast transmission: Voice/Video/Data On-Site or Remote. The digital signal is programmable and can be restricted to select sites only. Video Streaming and video downloading to the desktop are two additional features. MnSAT broadcasts its programming statewide, nationwide, and around the world.

Ku-Band analog satellite broadcast transmission
Voice/Video, On-Site or Remote. In addition to offering digital satellite services, MnSAT can also provide both Ku and C band broadcasts. Most receive sites have analog satellite dishes which can interface with digital dishes.

Network Interfaces
MnSAT can interconnect with local, regional, and national satellite networks.

Network Switching
In addition to network interconnectivity, MnSAT can alternate between the various network channels to provide seamless satellite services.

Satellite/Internet transmissions
MnSAT can interconnect with other satellite networks to provide total satellite coverage.

Satellite/ITV Broadcast
With satellite or instructional television broadcast, MnSAT can help clients provide blanket coverage or market select penetration to its intended audiences.

Satellite Multicast Broadcast to LAN/WANs (Video & Data)
In addition to satellite interconnectivity, MnSAT also provides multicast broadcast services to local area networks and wide area networks for both video and data transmissions.

Telephone Bank
During the satellite telecasts, a telephone bank is available for call-in questions and response from the viewing audience.

Teleprompter
Each camera in the MnSAT studio has a TelePrompTer to assist presenters and talent with their lines. Our crew members are experienced working with seasoned professionals and first time television presenters.

Uplink Interface Feeds
Through either portable devices or fixed uplink dishes, MnSAT is able to uplink both digital and analog satellite signals to any spot in the world.

VHS Tape Duplication
We can provide you with as many copies of a program as you need.

Video/Audio Tape Recording & Re-Plays
Programs produced in the studios of MnSAT can be recorded and played back during 'live' or pre-taped programs. Technology

Video Production
MnSAT has a fully equipped video production studio.

Videostreaming
Video on the desktop is one of the newest services provided by MnSAT. Coupled with a broad range of satellite and video services, MnSAT is able to help our clients communicate effectively on multiple levels.

Window Burns
Videotapes may be coded with electronic measurements down to frames per second for editing and retrieving data.
